Fertility treatment in Goa: IVF, ICSI and IUI under one roof
Pai Hospital carries out fertility investigation and treatment for both partners, in its own IVF laboratory, in the same building as the consultation room and the operating theatre. That matters because a fertility work-up usually needs more than one kind of test and, if surgery turns out to be needed, more than one kind of doctor — here, it is one doctor and one address throughout.
Where treatment usually starts
Roughly a third of infertility is traced to the woman, a third to the man, and the rest to a combination of both or to no clear cause found on testing — which is why the first step here is always investigating both partners, not just one. Understanding how conception works is often a useful starting point if you are early in trying to work out what might be going on.
What is investigated and treated
Female infertility

Male infertility
A semen analysis is usually the first test on the male side, and treatment ranges from medication to micro-TESE for more complex cases. Read about male infertility and micro-TESE.
IUI (intrauterine insemination)

IVF and ICSI

Why the hospital's own laboratory matters
Ovarian stimulation is monitored with a series of scans and blood tests over roughly ten to fourteen days; egg collection and embryo transfer both need to happen in the same cycle, in the same laboratory, without a gap for transporting samples elsewhere. Having the laboratory in the same building as the consultation room and the operating theatre removes that gap, and it means the same doctor sees a cycle through from the first scan to the transfer.
If male infertility needs surgery
Where sperm cannot be found in a semen sample, micro-TESE — a surgical procedure to retrieve sperm directly from the testicular tissue — is carried out in the hospital's own operating theatre, by the same doctor managing the rest of the cycle, rather than a referral elsewhere.
Getting started
Call or WhatsApp us and send any reports, scans or previous fertility test results you already have. A first consultation looks at what has already been done and what still needs investigating, so a cycle is not delayed by repeating tests unnecessarily. Patients travel from outside Goa and from the Gulf specifically for treatment here.
Do both partners need to be tested?
Yes, usually. Infertility is traced to the woman in some cases, the man in others, and a combination or no clear cause in the rest, so investigating both is the starting point.
What is the difference between IUI and IVF?
IUI places prepared sperm directly into the uterus around the time of ovulation and is less invasive; IVF fertilises the egg outside the body in the laboratory before transferring the resulting embryo. Which is suitable depends on your investigation results.
Is the IVF laboratory on site?
Yes. The embryology laboratory is in the same building as the consultation room and the operating theatre, at Vaddem, Vasco-da-Gama.
What if sperm cannot be found in a semen sample?
Micro-TESE, a surgical retrieval procedure, is carried out here in the hospital's own operating theatre.
