Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana: what we are registered for, and how to check your own cover
Pai Hospital is registered under the Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY) for gynaecology and for general surgery. DDSSY is a health scheme run by the Government of Goa, and health cards are issued to the local population. If you hold a card, bring it with you — and confirm your own eligibility category, because that is what decides your entitlement.

What to bring, and what to check
- Your DDSSY health card. Bring it with you to the first visit.
- Your identity and Goa residency documents, since eligibility is checked against them.
- Your own eligibility category. The scheme works in categories, and the one recorded against your card is what decides your entitlement. It is worth confirming before the appointment rather than at the counter.
Why we ask you to confirm your own category
Scheme rules and entitlements are set and updated by the Government of Goa, not by any one hospital. Telling you something is covered when your category does not cover it would be far worse than asking you to check. So the hospital's registration is stated plainly above, and your own entitlement is the part to confirm on your side — we will help you do it if you call.

Where it does not, you are given a precise, itemised cost once you have been assessed and examined here — hospital, medical, pharmacy and laboratory, each set out separately — and that figure does not change at the end. Getting here
The hospital runs its own cars. We collect patients from anywhere in Goa, and from across the border in Karnataka and Maharashtra, and bring you home again afterwards, free of cost.
